Years After Waje Talks About Credit P Square Never Gave Her.

Waje is vocalist of the moment with her latest collaboration with rapper M.I. on ‘One naira’ song getting rave reviews and airplay.

The singer broke out as the lady in the P Square’s DO Me song which she was invited by the twin for the recording of the  ‘Game Over’ album.

While the song became a massive hit, fans wondered who the female singer on the song was as she wasn’t properly credited – she was bothered when she wasn’t given the desired credit she informed. “As human beings…, we want some sort of leverage and when that is not forthcoming, you begin to question a lot of things”

She did confront them with her worries. There was also a failed arrangement at getting her to perform the song with them, largely due to her inexperience. She however, says there is no bad blood, only they see themselves very often.

She remains grateful to God for the opportunity to feature on the successful single: “At least, I’ve been associated with a big hit and it cannot be removed from the sands of time. It’s now part of history that Waje was the female voice in Do Me. I went to a show in Sierra Leone and nobody knew who I was. But the moment I did the Do Me thing, the crowd erupted and I was brought back on stage to perform again”

She looks forward to recording a duet with them in the nearest future.

M.I.2 Premiere in Text and Pictures

M.I. at the Premiere.

M.I.2 has received over a zillion reviews since it release (have you bought it on NHH yet?) with a chunk tagging it ‘an album that just works’. Critics might be getting at it but the album ratings still holds well, above average. The album might be trending over Twitter with a few still not certain of what they feel but the premiere at the Silverbird Galleria was a huge success.

Jude “MI” Abaga fondly referred to as Mister Incredible premiered his sophomore effort tagged MI2 – THE MOVIE at the Silverbird Galleria in a launch like never before experienced in the Nigerian entertainment industry and from a HIP HOP artiste. The highlight of the premiere was the release of all 16 – tracks of the album, as well as clips of different phases of the artiste’s life.

MI2 – THE MOVIE featured clips of four chapters; Chapter 1 – The beginning (with the ACTOR M.I. as the primary cast and focus in the HIP HOP WORLD) when everything is good and the going is smooth depicted in songs like “Action Film” ft label mate BRYMO, “Slow Down” ft Julius Ceasar; Chapter 2 – where there is an encounter with people, and there is a lot of hate and negative energy as depicted in songs like “Beef”, “Nobody” ft Tuface and “Anybody” ft Timaya. A special rendition is dedicated to the city of his youth “JOS” in a song he calls “Wild Wild West” where the artiste lyrically describes his pain over the degradation of his homeland and once peaceful dwelling place. Chapter 3 introduces us to the point of the actor’s life where he meets the woman of his dreams and falls in love, interpreted in songs like “One Naira” ft sultry songstress Waje and “Epic’’ ft Praise. Chapter 4 tells of the end, where the actor has it all together, has embraced his life and is ready to move into the future, to the happily ever after as seen in the song “Imperfect Me” ft Ruby, Kauna and Bola.

The event was attended by media, fans and industry personnel like Obi Asika, Wale Ewedemi, Olisa Adibua and Frank Edoho. Fellow artistes Wande Coal, Sound Sultan, Naeto C, Omawumi, MoCheddah, Rooftop MCs, Kel, and Dipp attended the event, as well as Waje, Timaya, Bez, Chocolate City label mates Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and Brymo who all shared the stage with him in different performances.

Another premiere is slated for Abuja fans on December 10, 2010 at the Silverbird Entertainment Centre.

Jude ‘M.I.’ Abaga Releases Digital MI2. MI2 trends O Twitter.

Rapper M.I. has finally released his most anticipated sophomore album. The movie album, as it is been described by press was expected earlier but had the release postponed. The album which is available for purchase at Nigerianhiphop.net also trended on Twitter as fans and colleagues expressed their excitement and announced their excitement over the release via Twitter. The album parades a decent list of collaborators like Tuface, Brymo, Waje, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Ruby and surprisely Timaya and Flavour (of MC loph’s remake of Oshondi Owendu track). Evidently M.I. decided to be musical with the album and played less at being a lyricist. As previously reported, There would be a premiere of MI2 at Silverbird, and in Abuja on Dec 9th.
