South African based model cum Singer, Pius ‘CodRead’ Okaba is an indigene of Obudu, Cross Rivers who left Nigeria for South Africa in 2005 after his decision to strut the runways in other countries where he made his mark.

CodRead started making music in 1999 under the pseudonym, Boldman and in 2000 formed a group “Beat Block Boys” with his brother. His kind of music cuts across various genres such as; Jamaican reggae/dance-hall with fusion of afro-pop blend.

He was nominated at the last edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) for the video of his song Patricia Feat. Buffalo Souljah and he is set to make an impact on the Nigerian Music scene. He released a single titled Go Crazy featuring the highly creative musician and producer – Terry G. The ‘Go crazy’ record enjoyed airplay on radio stations in South Africa and on charts on Nigerian Radio.

This new record - konko featuring Maye Hunta is described as a representative of the company – 107 Records, a subsidiary of Nova Entertainment as ‘Fela meets pop’.

His self titled debut album would feature Maye Hunta, Buffalo Souljah, Danny Boy and Terry G.

One female act in diaspora is fast carving a niche for herself as the sole representative of Naija Divas in the Party Rockaz genre and she is coming offshore with a huge command of an army of loyalists.

Born Yewande Abiodun in a family of four, music has always been a gate-away avenue at expressing her rather shy countenance. For her in a family of educationists, Yewande has always had the knack to releasing her innermost feeling through music despite stiff and stern opposition from her mother especially. The sunday 26th of September, Tuface was in concert with a live band and Lagos came out to watch him on stage as he reeled out his greatest hits all with a live band. From getting implicated, nobody holy pass and African queen to knock you off with Plantashun Boiz (there was a reunion with Blackface absent – sources inform he is Malaysia). It was indeed a night as energy and experience worked for the living legend – Tuface.

The high point was Tuface performing ‘Flex’ with Tonto Dikeh playing the stripper, She almost convinced the crowd that she was naked as she played a stripper wearing a skin-tight and colored suit beneath a white long sleeve. Also, Recuperating Terry G (who survived a recent accident) and Timaya came on stage to do the alanta as Tuface performed ‘Enter the place’ with Sound Sultan.

As previously reported, Terry G was involved in a car accident.  He is in perfect shape, both his manager and PA informs. The producer/singer was discharged from Triumph Hospital, Ikeja at about 4PM, September 8th.

Pasuma and Saheed Osupa back at war. There was a fracas between fuji music acts – Pasuma and Saheed osupa at the event to celebrate Mushin Day in july where Pasuma remarked that Saheed shouldn’t wait for him on stage after he (Saheed) was done following jealous from a previous event hosted by a fan of both musicians. In the tradition of Fuji music marketers, a VCD for the ‘Mushin day’ event was mass produced for sale – titled Fire for Fire. After Osupa’s attention was drawn to Pasuma’s remarks ,  he replied at a child naming ceremony for another fan of his – the naming ceremony was also videotaped and is on sale – Bombshell.  Osupa went further to appeal at Pasuma’s mother to call his son to caution then went on to address that his (Saheed) band boys were living very comfortably as his backup singer and drummer has two cars with his manager is a ‘landlord with his own house in Lagos’ unlike Pasuma’s.  Saheed Osupa still insists he doesn’t want to be abusive and Pasuma should be cautioned.

Deposed Deji of Akure slumps over the emergence of new Deji - the former Deji, Oba Oluwadare Adepoju Adesina collapsed when the new Deji, Prince Adebiyi was announced. the former was drinking a bottle of beer when he heard the news of Adebiyi’s announcement and collapsed.

Former Hip TV producer/director, Joke Jaiyesinmi is Now with Soundcity Music Channel. It is speculated that he departure from Hip Tv is connected to her broken relationship with husband Tokunbo ‘DJ Tee’ Odunbanwo.

Gift Uwame a.k.a Muma Gee recently and secretly got married and it is not to Tee mac or any other man speculated by previous media reports. She is reported to have secretly got married to avoid the attention with and disruption from the media.  Her husband is an actor though and they were at the 2010 City people awards together.

Terry G

Terry G was involved in an accident this morning – September 4th, at about 3AM where his car was badly damaged. He is informed to have been on his way home from hanging out with friends when he ran into the road demarcation around Chemiron, close to Sunday Market, in Ogba.

Most recent reports are he is fine as he took to Twitter to announce so, after his manager did – “i dey o. Thanks for all the love.. God pass them.. I wan go rest small!! Ginjah no go die. God guide us and One love my people! I appreciate”, he tweeted.
