How my pastor raped my daughter and aborted her pregnancy – Abuja mother tells sad story in court

A restaurateur and mother of 14-year old girl has told a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Karu how the pastor of a church she attends serially had carnal knowledge of her daughter, impregnating her and aborting the pregnancy.

According to her, the pastor had his way with the teenager on the pretence that he was carrying out deliverance on her.

The said pastor, Princewil Basil is standing trial for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge, impregnating and abortion and for also having sexual intercourse with another 15-year-old girl, Amarachi Onuoha.

The police charge sheet reads in part, “that you Apostle Princewill Basil severally had unlawful carnal knowledge of one Favour Iwuoha, 14-years-old and Amarachi Onuha, 15-years-old, who are all students and members of your church, in your church office on the pretence that you are carrying out deliverance on them, and you impregnated Favour Iwuoha.

‘’When you discovered such, you conspired with Pauline Okoh Odey and took her to Fantami head medical center, Mararaba and you falsely impersonated yourself as her father and aborted her pregnancy without her consent.”

The victim’s mother, Mrs Ngozi Iwuoha, told the court that her pastor, Apostle Princewill Basil, lied to her daughter that there was a “dirty foundation that defined her life’’ and he wanted to cast out evil spirits from her.

Apostle Basil who runs Mountain of Mover Fire Ministry Church in Nyanya, was said to have ordered the teenager to remove her clothes in his office, to enable him cast out evil spells from her and that after she removed her dress, he started pouring and rubbing a certain oily substance on her body.

Iwuoha, who was testifying in the trial of the pastor by the police, said even when the girl asked the pastor whether one has to remove ones dress for deliverance, the pastor slapped her.
The pastor, she said also told the girl after rubbing her with oil that there were still certain spirits in her body which can only be removed by her husband and since she was not married, he was going to do it for her.

Consequently, he asked her to close her eyes and by the time she opened her eyes, the pastor had removed his dress. At this point, the pastor removed a handkerchief and rubbed her face with it which made her unconscious.

The witness further told the court that by the time her daughter regained consciousness, she noticed there was blood all over her genitals. The pastor, she said cleaned her and brought a knife, threatening her never to reveal the encounter to anyone including her mother otherwise he would kill her

She said from the deliverance record she got from her daughter, the pastor first had carnal knowledge of her daughter on July 27, 2011 and continued carrying out the dastardly act until her daughter missed her menstrual period in December 2011.

“When the pastor discovered that my daughter was pregnant, he took her to Mararaba and aborted the pregnancy. But it was when I found out that my daughter was ceaselessly bleeding and that it no longer appeared to be her menstrual period that I began to ask her questions,’’ she added.

Chief Magistrate, Shuaibu Ahmed adjourned hearing in the matter to November 13, for continuation of trail.

Dozens of topless women protested in a NY City park as they mark Go-Topless Day

Some two dozen topless women protested in a New York City park on a hot, sweaty Sunday as part of what they called National Go-Topless Day to draw attention to inequality in topless rights between men and women.

There were topless men in the park, too, but nobody paid them much attention, a disparity, organisers said, that demonstrated the need for the event.

The topless women drew crowds of onlookers who took pictures and video with their cell phones.

“We say there is nothing wrong with the female nipple,” Karen Heaven, an organiser of the event, told the crowd that quickly formed around her in Manhattan’s Bryant Park. She was wearing white pants and not much else besides a purse over her shoulder. “My dog has six, I have two, but I can be put in jail for showing my nipples. It’s 2012 — what are we thinking?”

Tiger kills zookeeper

A Siberian tiger has attacked and killed a female keeper at a zoo in Germany.

It seems an unlocked gate at Cologne Zoo allowed the tiger, Altai, to get out of its pen and into a store, where it attacked the zookeeper.

The zoo’s director then shot the animal through a skylight in the store, before it could go further and get into public areas.

photographer took pictures of a grizzly bear eight minutes before the bear mauled him to death

A photographer hiking in Alaska’s vast Denali National Park took pictures of a grizzly bear for at least eight minutes before the bear turned on him and mauled him to death, park rangers said Saturday.

Photographs show the bear grazing and not acting aggressively before the attack Friday afternoon. The photos show the hiker walked within 50 feet of the bear, far less than the quarter-mile buffer required by park rules.

Rangers on patrol found the man’s blood-covered backpack and began a search. From a helicopter, they spotted the large male grizzly sitting on the hiker’s remains about 100 yards away. A state trooper shot and killed him.

It was the first known fatal mauling in the park’s nearly century-long history. The hiker was American, but police have not yet released his name.

First man on moon Neil Armstrong dead at 82

U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong, who took a giant leap for mankind when he became the first person to walk on the moon, has died at the age of 82, his family said on Saturday.

Armstrong died following complications from heart-bypass surgery he underwent earlier this month, the family said in a statement, just two days after his birthday on August 5.

As commander of the Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969. As he stepped on the dusty surface, Armstrong said: ““That’s one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Those words endure as one of the best known quotes in the English language.

13 Chinese Girls arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service for Prostitution

13 teenage Chinese prostitutes were paraded by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Friday. They were arrested and detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service following a raid of their base on Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja. The immigration service raided the apartment following a tip off.

More than 40 teenage girls were brought into the country and camped in an apartment for Nigerian politicians, business executives and expatriates to hire for sex at the cost of between $1,000 and $2,500. The cartel was run by Chinese couple named Sun and Yin Li.

NIS spokesman, Joachim Olumba, said the service received a report on the activities of some Chinese nationals who connived with some Nigerians to traffic teenage girls into the country under the pretext of offering them jobs in factories.

A distress call from one of the victims prompted the immigration service to carry out a raid on some operational locations of some of the syndicates.

“Having gathered intelligence information, operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service swooped on the operational locations of the syndicates at No. 18, 24 and 26B Emena Crescent, Ikeja, Lagos,” he said, “During the operations a total number of 13 Chinese nationals made up of 11 females and two males were arrested.”

He said preliminary investigation confirmed that most of the women were sponsored into the country by some “criminal human traffickers who are currently at large”.

Olumba, however, expressed the regret that the informant who made the distress call that led to the investigation and arrest of the suspects, had yet to be rescued because she did not give a clear description of her location in Lagos.

“It is unfortunate that we have not been able to rescue the lady who called us, because she only provided the number of the house where she is being held, without the name of the street. We want to use this opportunity to solicit for information from the public that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of this ignoble business and rescue of our informant,” Olumba said.

In her statement, the NIS Arresting Officer, Chinwe Obi, said the Chinese Embassy in Abuja was in touch with the suspects, and that arrangements were being made to ease them out of the country.

One of the victims, Lu Yui Suan, however, denied allegations that they were arrested for prostitution.

Lu Yui, who spoke through an interpreter, said she came into the country in June, on the invitation of a friend.
