Reports reaching us is May D NEVER signed an official contract with Square Records. They only had a verbal agreement. So, when it was time to sign the contract, May D made some demands that Square Records were not willing to meet. For this reason, their relationship dissolved.
May D claimed he was not aware of the sack. His associates said they all heard about the sack on blogs and social media; that May D was not properly informed.

Years After Waje Talks About Credit P Square Never Gave Her.
Waje is vocalist of the moment with her latest collaboration with rapper M.I. on ‘One naira’ song getting rave reviews and airplay.
The singer broke out as the lady in the P Square’s DO Me song which she was invited by the twin for the recording of the ‘Game Over’ album.
While the song became a massive hit, fans wondered who the female singer on the song was as she wasn’t properly credited – she was bothered when she wasn’t given the desired credit she informed. “As human beings…, we want some sort of leverage and when that is not forthcoming, you begin to question a lot of things”
She did confront them with her worries. There was also a failed arrangement at getting her to perform the song with them, largely due to her inexperience. She however, says there is no bad blood, only they see themselves very often.
She remains grateful to God for the opportunity to feature on the successful single: “At least, I’ve been associated with a big hit and it cannot be removed from the sands of time. It’s now part of history that Waje was the female voice in Do Me. I went to a show in Sierra Leone and nobody knew who I was. But the moment I did the Do Me thing, the crowd erupted and I was brought back on stage to perform again”
She looks forward to recording a duet with them in the nearest future.
“P Square was in Nigeria during the MAMAs”
Reports have emerged that the Okoye twin were in Nigeria on the day of the MAMAs but P Square was delibrately absent from the MTV Africa Music Awards. Instead, A recorded video of their appreciation speech for their win, stating it was due to reasons beyond their control and J Martins took the plaque on their behalf. It was assumed that the twin were not in the town and the video was recorded days before at the new home – Square ville. P Square allegedly shunned the MAMA to make an appearance at a club party by the kids of the royal Oniru family, who presumably paid them to make an appearance, for them to have decided to be absent at the MAMA.
Vehicles for Jude, the twin’s brother / manager and Peter were spotted in front of Autolounge, Bar – five minutes drive from the Awards’ venue. However, they were spotted at the Awards’ after party.
It is alleged that P Square had asked for appearance and performance fee from MTV which MTV refused but convinced them to make a video thanking fans after they were informed of their win before the winners were unveiled at the event.
P Square’s 30th Birthday and The Cake.
On the evening of their 30th birthday which fell on Thursday, November 18, 2010, P. Square hosted a talk-of-the-town party at their new home in Omole Estate, Ikeja Lagos. Present were the major figures of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry including the extrovert Deputy Governor of Lagos, State, Mrs. Sarah Sosan, who presented them with pictures of the city. Their home, aptly named Squareville played host to the Red Carpet, cocktails, dinner and dances as all guests enjoyed themselves till the wee hours of the next morning.
Sir Shina Peters Lust To Be In The News? If Tuface Is Empty then P Square, Banky W and Dbanj are …?
You can always guess the direction of headlines as such.
‘I’m Sorry To Say, But 2face Is Empty’ – Sir Shina Peters
One wonders what is Sir Shina Peter’s yardstick for ‘emptiness’ or probably he has given the word another definition.
If you missed the report, Sir Shina Peters called ‘legendary lyricist’ TUface empty in an interview with the NET newspaper correspondent. He is quoted to have said: ‘…I want to see someone like 2face to be very successful because everything is just name. But deep down, I’m sorry to say this, he’s empty and it’s not good for our artistes…
Caution would be to wait till the newspaper hit stands, read the entire interview but how can Tuface be ‘empty’?
The question is if Tuface is empty then D’banj, P square and Banky W are WHAT?
Check the video below with SSP and tell how ‘FULL’ his lyrics were in the song, Personal note? Does the empty call another empty? Wrong move.>
VIDEO: P – Square’s More Than 300 Million Naira Mansion.
PREDICTIONS: Winners Of 2010 SMVA.
Let’s welcome Paul Octopus of African Awards. Soundcity Music Video Awards is taking on Africa – broadening her tentacles beyond Nigeria and in a bid to play Paul Octopus, Friends at Museke are predicting winners.
Best Male Video
Tough category here but I think the video here should be Strong Ting by Banky W though Don Kikas’ Continua Assim could pull a surprise. DaGrin is nominated and even Zimbawe’s Tinashe. 2face Idibia and Sarkodie round it out.
Best Female Video
Usual supsects Lizha James, Dama do Bling and Becca are all nominated and one of them will win it. I have a feeling it will be Becca with Fire.
Best Choreography
Pleasant surprise to Namibia’s Curtiz nominated. Fally Ipupa looks like a sure choice alongside Banky W. But, that Moza Girl video with Dama do Bling got some…. you know.
Best Special Effects
Overkilling killed it with the special effects. I think it will win though I expect Jr’s Show Dem to have a say in this matter.
Best Editing
I am not a technical guy so I will predict on sentiment here. I want Moza Girl to win.
Best Duo Or Group Video
It’s tough to see P-Square not winning this but Ghana’s VIP and Nigeria’s Styl Plus are back. And South Africa’s TearGas are on fire. Show De says you can’t Tell Me Nothing and Deep Level says We Run The City. Can’t beat P-Square though.
Best Cinematography
This category was simply made for Freshlyground. Fire Is Low wins.
Best Hip Hop Video
I have a feeling DaGrin will win this and I think he should. Excellent video - Pon Pon Pon.
Best R & B Video
Excited about Yvonne’s nomination! Da-Rey, I think, is the best African singer of recent memory but this category will go to Banky W for Strong Ting.
Best Pop Video
Interesting nominees but I think 2face Idibia should win this with Implication
Best Collaboration In A Music Video
It’s sweet to see JJC’s We Are Africans (Africa Rmx) nominated and I believe it will win. The Ghanaian nominees – D’Black and Sarkodie’s videos are strong contenders though.
Discovery Of The Year
If You Want Me by Mo’ Cheddah. Enuff said.
Best Video (voting)
The best video amongst these is really Strong Ting. Because I remember the video from start to finish.
Viewers Choice (voting)
Abi I am a viewer too? I’ll have to choose Safe by MI.
Best Western
Is this musician or video? Tough category and it’s nice to see Adiouza and Emmerson nominated. Maybe the Nigerian votes would split amongst 2face Idibia, Wande Coal and PSquare that will allow Samini to win? Unlikely. It’s 2Face Idibia’s time once again and I expect him to win.
Best Eastern
This is the easiest category I’ve had to deal with all day. Out of these 6, it’s really Wyre who’s semi-reigning this year. So, Wyre.
Best Southern
Lizha James might just win this because she seems to win most things. But I think this should beBlack Coffee
Best Central
Straight duel amongst Fally Ipupa, Barbara Kanam and Jumo Selesao. Fally’s popularity and visibility might just be too much for the others.
Hit Producer Of The Year (as Used In A Music Video)
Don Jazzy to win this with Bumper to Bumper by Wande Coal with the dark horse being every other nominee.
Soundcity Fresh Video
Wow! Fresh videos indeed. Let’s all vote for Mokobe, he made the video for his country Mali as they celebrate their 50th anniversary of independence. Wow! Nhi Ngugu Haladza from Tania Tome (Mozambique) is nominated? Wow. Easy win for D’banj’s Mr. Endowed. Unless, people actually don’t like the song’s lyrics and crown Mali Debout.
