Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Stella Damascus In ‘Bent Arrow’

From ‘Holding Hope’ to ‘Busting out’ to ‘Save our Souls’, Nollywood can be said to be in the mood for movie premiering. Right now another star studded movie ‘Bent Arrow’ featuring Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Stella Damasus, Enebeli Elebuwa, Desmond Elliot, Ngozi Ezeonu, Omoni Oboli etc. is set to be premiered by 6pm at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja on 9th of September, 2010.

Directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and produced by Isang Ubong-Awah ‘Bent Arrows’ storylines weave together to illuminate the human consequences of sexual abuse, betrayal, undue parental control and the male child syndrome on both the society, and specifically, on young girls.

For the first time in the history of movie making in Nigeria an independent soundtrack album was produced for a movie. The ‘Bent Arrow’ soundtrack album was produced by Nigeria’s foremost music producer, Mr. Cobhams Asuquo with different genres of music and featured notable Nigerian singers like Styl Plus of Olufunmi fame, the Rooftop MCs (Lagimo), Nikki Laoye, Stella Damasus etc. the 7 track album has songs like A Brighter Day Will Come, Loved From the Start, Bent Arrow a ballad and so many more.

A film in a class of its own ‘Bent Arrows’ was post-produced in South Africa to bring the work to international standards. The Bent Arrows movie and the Bent Arrows soundtrack album was funded by Alphabridges Limited presently managed by Isang Ubong-Awah, a writer/ astute business manager with over five years experience in developing and running a media outfit.

Speaking on the movie, the producer Isang Ubong-Awah said ‘ Bent Arrows is a film that is not hideous about the realities of life, it shows that things may not always go the way we plan, and sometimes we will meet with circumstances that will pull us down but if we have faith we can rise above any challenge’.

Written to connect with audiences within and outside Nigeria ‘Bent Arrows’ is set to be a yardstick for excellent and innovative entertainment.

Olu Jacob Lead Panelists To Pick The Top 100 Most Influential People In The Entertainment Industry

In order that the labor of our past and present heroes don’t go in vain, the Stingomania Records is putting up an award project that will honor past and present entertainers in different categories; Movies, Music, Radio, Newsprint, Corporate Bodies, Comedians, Event promoters/Marketers, Executives and Theater. The award project has such categories as the most popular entertainer since independence, the most influential person in movies since independence and the most influential person in comedy since independence In addition, Stingomania Records, the brains behind the awards, will also honor the most influential person in sports since independence, most influential executives in entertainment and the most influential corporate bodies in entertainment will also be honored.

The award will have a special 13-event program to honor, encourage and recompense the top 100 most influential people in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry in the last 50 years. Golden Jubilee Award, an award that is only the best of the best can get a hold on. The full project will start with a book compilation of the 10 most influential people in entertainment in the last 50 years in 10 different categories of the entertainment and these will be suited by a 13 week television documentary. Each segment with a panel of discussants analyzing the top 10 nominated people and viewers will be franchised to vote for the most influential person in each category to win the award of the most influential person in their respective categories.

Already, an array of eminent personalities in the entertainment industry across the country has been drawn to select the best of our heroes past.
