Aiight, so my story last week( About a couple making up)  prompted a rant on Twitter which re-ignited a beef and later escalated to unimaginable heights. M.I WANTS TO SWITCH GEAR TO MOVIES….REALLY???

First of all, let me state that people have been  wondering when M.I.2 is gonna drop. On THE 411daily blog , the release date story is one of the most read, A lot of folks hit me up with complaints that he features on too many songs, I tell them, that from my sources over there at the Chocolate City Camp, they say  most of these collabos have been done about two years ago and that the fact that they are just coming out now isn’t the artiste’s fault.  So I was in the middle of an update on the upcoming album when all of a sudden, they dropped the BOMB on us!

M.I reportedly said…“I think it’s about time for me to try something else and acting is something I’ve always had a passion for and I think it’s time for me to explore that area. I know my fans will love my new movie coming out and although this may not be final, I will no longer be doing music for the time being.”

O.K Lets flash back to April 9^th, the Articulate rapper posted this note on his facebook page…

i am no longer releasing an album this year and the vision of MI2 has been changed. i will not release new music this year, but will instead release an Indie film called MI2.

the music i have previously recorded will act as a soundtrack for said movie and will be available on itunes in their complete form, i will rework the song with tuface and will feature (maybe) timi dakolo on God bless you..

this is due in part to the fact that my music has been leaking and it really breaks the heart, also because i have had too many unbalancing things happen and cannot record the way i want to anymore..

after speaking to two incredible directors, seyo babatope and clarence peters.. i have come to realise that it is only through film that i can express myself.. this should not be too surprising as another great artist, Jim Iyke recently made the opposite transition.

i hope to revolutionalize nollywood and nigerian film with this project and will subsequently be releasing more info about the film.. this is just to let the real fans know whats up

So the BUFF did a little investigation and got to the very crux of the matter, Word is that the Initial release date of the album (Nov 6^th) was no longer feasible ‘cos the short black boy was only three(3) songs deep ( we hear that the track Nobody feat 2face is even incomplete). People wasn’t watching but there is a another dimension in the Toni Payne vs 9ice saga on twitter,  one Sweetness Adekeye calls out 9ice’s manager and alleges that he is the cause of the rift between him and his wife, She goes ahead to claim that the manager engages in shady deals behind 9ice’s  back and that the manager is gay, She also claims the manager is heavily into voodoo and has used it to cajole 9ice into turning against his wife, closest friends and family.

Ryan Simkin, a former ‘Girls Gone Wild’ cameraman, wrote a tell-all book, and GGW founder Joe Francis has sued to stop its release.

In the court proceedings, an interesting passage from the book surfaced alleging that Paris Hilton smuggled drugs in a Camel cigarette box hidden in a private place, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Simkin writes that Francis once ordered him to deliver a box of cocaine and ecstasy to Hilton before a trip to Europe:

“I asked if she was flying private, and she said, ‘No, commercial.’ And then as politely as I could, I asked her how she planned on traveling with that amount of blow and X. Micheal Stevens a.k.a Ruggedman would on the 20th of September 2010 add another year to his roughly mid thirty something years. Never would he have thought that he’d receive a diss track/album as his birthday gift from a colleague that once called him boss, a colleague that championed the hit single off his sophomore album hailing him ‘ruggedy baba the opomulero’ too bad! The Alapomeji camp just released a diss track titled ‘Talk am listening’ which featured Seriki.

The last time I checked Micheal never had it well with the Nine’s, first was the ego battle with erstwhile lyricist Modenine and off recent the very famous phone conversation with 9ice about the rumours of him (Rugged) sleeping with his ex-wife. It’s safe to say the Ruggedman has been doomed by the 9’s. The off recently quiet but twitter vibrant Micheal has evidently run out of ideas as to boosting his musical career even after putting out two singles from his much talked about last album which has taken longer than expected to drop. Teaming up with the Loopy crew, putting Ice Prince on a track and doing all that can be done to impress on the ‘She n my swagga’ track with production from Sossick, the ruggedman still couldn’t make things work, the best thing that has happened to him in recent times has been hosting the Star Quest show and starring in the Glo blackberry advert.

The past few years have not been too impressive for the rapper in the Music Industry from the indirect disses to Modenine urging him to mention his name to the known talking to you featuring Banky W where modenine took a direct jab at him with the famous punchline “you are not a father you’ve got intellect myopia, when I diss a baba its not Ethiopia” followed by the indirect reply by ruggedman in Banging, to the popular death blow part one where the Baba lost any lyrical credibility that he ever had.

The Discord with 9ice began with rumours of him been the cause of 9ice’s broken marriage and also the character portrayed in the song once beaten twice shy; thought to be giving a head by his ex-wife. He thought it as a smart move to record a conversation he had with 9ice on phone, release it online to prove his innocence, but that leak was the beginning and a catalyst for this song. Talk  i’m listening 9ice sang repeatedly and in the first verse Seriki whitewashed Ruggedy reiterating one of Modenine’s line in death blow where he said Ruggedman was sleeping with his dancers. In the second verse 9ice went very direct mocking Ruggedman by calling him a bastard repeatedly. 9ice’s ex-wife Toni Payne appears to be caught in the middle in all of this has she tweeted her frustration on the whole scenario, affirming that Ruggedman releasing the phone coversation was a dumb move but 9ice releasing a track/album to that effect was insane and way childish.

The big questions??
Would ruggedman reply this diss song? If he does what would he say? One of the reasons he gave for not replying Modenine in his words was that he was too busy to think of a ‘broke lyricist’. So what would he make the base of his Braggadocio now? Or would he let this also fade away? The truth is whatever he does, Micheal Steven’s musical career did dwindle and the whole diss saga he is surrounded by establishes an unimaginable manifestation of Karma.
