Joey Plus won’t be stalling on #JoeyTunesDay. On its fifth week after inception, he does a cover of Kanye West’s All of the lights featuring Shorty Ace again with CJ and Dampte. Also, Joey Plus would be releasing his official second single ‘E no matter’ on the 5th of July via major platforms, both online and radio. ‘E no matter’ is a self produced song handpicked as a favourite by his mother.

Joey Plus was one of the producers who mentored the band in the Nigerian Breweries sponsored Talent Hunt Show, Star Quest. The talent hunt was indeed a parade of tested producers including Samklef [Producer for Wizkid's Don't Dull] and Phat E [J'odie's Kuchi kuchi baby]. Joey Plus mentored the recent winning band at Star Quest talent hunt, B.E.A.T.
Before Star Quest, Joey Plus born Joseph Eferurhobo mentored under Willie Oputa – a Producer/DJ presently with legendary Tuface Idibia engineered tracks for the like of Blackfaze [Plantashun Boiz], Krazy Kulture et al and release his first single, ‘No time’ featuring Dampte of Wine your tinkolo featuring YQ fame.
The Producer/singer revamped his recording career as he launches the #Joeytunesday new music giveaway every tuesday via his Twitter account: @JoeyPlus weeks ago.
He started his music career at a tender age like many other that came before him. However, his path to recognition did not follow the convention. He grew up playing the piano in the Church and listening to the music of Sir Victor Uwaifo and a host of others.
Joey plus, understandably, claims he gets his influences from the likes of Timbaland, Jay Z, R. Kelly, John legend, Akon, Bob Marley, Kanye west and a host of others.
Joey Plus came into contact, and fell deeply in love with Hip Hop and RnB in 1995 after listening to a musical compilation of some of the afore-mentioned artistes. Ten years later, he recorded his first solo effort titled ”Oba tin seun”. Years later, he released his official debut single titled ‘No time’ – an uptempo record with its beats laced with great lyrics and fit into today’s settings.
E no matter can best be described as the Nigerian unity song where J Martins meet a lesser melodic vibe with lyrics like ‘whether I south, whether I west, whether i north, whether i east, E no mata [Matter]‘
