Cape Town – Letshego Moshoeu and Hykie Berg are the final two survivors in the current season of Survivor South Africa.

After winning the final immunity challenge by hanging on a wooden pole for two hours and 57 minutes, Moshoeu, the only “pleb” left in the game, secured her place in the final.

Moshoeu then had to decide whether she would take actor Hykie Berg or actress Bonnie Henna with her to the Survivor South Africa: Maldives finale.

The 26-year-old biokineticist chose to Hykie Berg to accompany her to the finale, making Bonnie Henna the 10th member of the jury.

Berg looked at Moshoeu with surprise when host Nico Panagio read out the result.

Earlier in Thursday’s episode, musician MXO was the 14th person voted off the island and he became the ninth member of the jury.

Letshego and Hykie will now proceed on a countrywide tour to greet fans before attending the live finale which takes place in Johannesburg on Thursday May 26.

Viewers have an opportunity to influence the outcome of the game by voting for their favourite. Viewers can vote by smsing the name of their chosen contestant – Hykie or Letshego – to 37177. The viewers’ vote will count as the 11th vote of the jury.

The 90-minute finale will air live on M-Net on May 26 at 19:30.

Ex street sweeper wins SA’s Got Talent

Posted on 29 October 2010 by Shola Syno

45-year-old former street sweeper James Bhemgee has won the SA’s Got Talent television contest, which secures him a prize of R250,000

A tenor, Bhemjee beat fellow Capetonian vocalist and policewoman, Madalene Abrahams (32) who came second, with The Limited Drum Corps coming third — making it a 1,2,3  for Cape Town.

And as Judge Shado Twala said “Cape Town’s Got Talent”.

Facebook fans dubbed Bhemjee “South Africa’s own Susan Boyle, only better”, from the very first audition months ago. (Boyle was the singing sensation who captured the world’s imagination when she won Britain’s Got Talent two years ago).

Bhemjee, who sang Gira Con Me by Josh Groban, was first “discovered” on the streets of Cape Town by a woman who overheard him singing whilst he was working as a street sweeper. Impressed, she paid for Bhemgee to have vocal lessons and until now he’s been performing with the group the Cape Flats Tenors.

Runner up, Constable Madalene Abrahams, sang her way into second place with a near perfect performance of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. By day a policewoman, the transformation into glamorous diva for the show left the audience speechless.

Third placed Limited Drum Corps had to borrow drums for their show-stopping performance.

The three judges had no say in the final – it was purely based on public votes.

But they did have a lot to say about Bhemjee’s win: “You are so humble but blessed with a stunning talent,” said Ian von Memerty.

“You are natural and proved there is no need to show off,” commented Randall Abrahams; while Shado Twala told him that he could “perform anywhere in the world”

BIG BROTHER All Stars UPDATE: Meryl Jumping From One Man To Another.

Posted on 23 July 2010 by Dro

Meryl.

Namibia’s Meryl has been having a blast, if I say so myself which might be alright and dokey as there aren’t enough women for all eight men in the Big Brother Africa all star House.  24-year-old Meryl from Namibia is jumping from one man to another.

Just three days in the house, Meryl has bonded with Nigeria’s Uti, 27, Munya, 24, from Zimbabwe, and Ghana’s 35-year-old Sammy B.

There are only six women in this season’s Big Brother Africa All Stars reality show.

In the previous four seasons, Biggie had an equal number of men and women.

At 1am, Meryl cried her eyes out while resting her head on Uti’s lap. Uti had his arms wrapped around her.

She has already declared she’s got the hots for Uti, Munya and Hannington, 24, from Uganda. Malawi’s Code, 34, took up his guitar and started serenading his house-mates, who sang and danced.

Tatiana looked deep into Code’s eyes as he played the guitar and maybe, just maybe, Code has stolen her heart with his music.

Just before 10am yesterday, Meryl treated Sammy B to a free lap dance.

Wearing a yellow vest and a blue and black kanga, she shook her booty in Sammy B’s face. Blindfolded, he could not help but smile as he kissed and caressed her booty. He groaned in excitement and had a smile on his face long after the dance had ended.

Two hours later, Meryl’s claws were on Munya, giving him a back massage before taking a shower with him. She gently rubbed body lotion on his back. Munya was in seventh heaven.

Before Meryl happened, Munya was in the arms of Angolan Tatiana, 29, sharing quality time as they got all sweaty while exercising.

All the house mates are up for eviction on Sunday.
