Lauryn H.

Lauryn Hill ll has a really good excuse for being late to her recent shows. Despite being over an hour and a half tardy to her show at Chene Park in Detroit, L-Boogie ended her set by announcing she is pregnant!

Hill began dropping hints that she was having another child as recently as April. During her “Moving Target: Extended Playdate Series” at Club Nokia in Los Angeles she teased the audience by saying, “I keep having these children. I don’t know if I’m the most fertile woman in America.” Ms. Hill currently has five children with her boyfriend Rohan Marley: Zion(b.1997); Selah(b. 1998); Joshua Marley(b. 2002); John Marley(b. 2003); and Sarah(b.2008).

Hill did not say how far along she is in her pregnancy. – The Urban Daily

Sarah Palin has a biopic to catapult her to To GOP Presidential frontline

Posted on 27 May 2011 by QMarkMag

Deadline reports that one time US presidential aspirant, Sarah palin has a biopic which would be released in June on HBO titled Game Change. It is made by made by conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon (Generation Zero celebrating the Tea Party movement, and In The Face Of Evil lionizing President Reagan). The biopic would premiere in late June in Iowa and then other early presidential primary states like New Hampshire and South Carolina and Nevada with a DVD release.

Scott Conroy, a national political reporter for RealClearPolitics who has seen the film wrote:

“Shortly after Republicans swept last November to a historic victory in which Sarah Palin was credited with playing a central role, the former Alaska governor pulled aside her close aide, Rebecca Mansour, to discuss a hush-hush assignment: Reach out to conservative filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon with a request. Ask him if he would make a series of videos extolling Palin’s governorship and laying to rest lingering questions about her controversial decision to resign from office with a year-and-a-half left in her first term. It was this abdication, Palin knew, that had made her damaged goods in the eyes of some Republicans who once were eager to get behind her potential 2012 presidential campaign. The response was more positive than Palin could have hoped for. He’d make a feature-length movie, Bannon told Mansour, and he insisted upon taking complete control and financing it himself — to the tune of $1 million. The fruits of that initial conversation are now complete. The result is a two-hour-long, sweeping epic, a rough cut of which Bannon screened privately for Sarah and Todd Palin last Wednesday in Arizona, where Alaska’s most famous couple has been rumored to have purchased a new home. When it premieres in Iowa next month, the film is poised to serve as a galvanizing prelude to Palin’s prospective presidential campaign — an unconventional reintroduction to the nation that she and her political team have spent months eagerly anticipating, even as Beltway Republicans have largely concluded that she won’t run.” Bannon, a former naval officer and ex-Goldman Sachs banker, sees his documentary as the first step in Palin’s effort to rebuild her image in the eyes of voters who may have soured on her, yet might reconsider if old caricatures begin to fade. The film will also appeal to staunch Palin supporters who have long celebrated her biting rhetoric and conservative populism yet know little about her record in Alaska and have perhaps written her off as presidential material.”

Facebook does the unthinkable as Google Social search goes live

Posted on 19 May 2011 by Milkman

Google will roll out its somewhat controversial Social Search feature to 19 more languages next week, the company has announced on its official blog.

Launched back in October 2009, Social Search is a feature that combines regular search results with publicly available data created by your friends’ social media activities.

Your “friends” are quite loosely defined and include people in your Google Talk friends list, your Google Contacts, people you’re following on Buzz and Google Reader, and other networks you’ve linked from your Google profile or Google Account. Google can also find your friends on public networks such as Twitter and Facebook and gather the data from their public connections as well.

The feature was recently the subject of controversy, as Facebook hired a PR company to push negative stories about Social Search in the press. Facebook claims that Google’s practices raise “serious privacy concerns”, and it’s unhappy with the fact that Google can use Facebook data for its service without Facebook’s permission.

Facebook admitted hiring a PR firm to raise concerns about Google’s privacy practices. The campaign backfired though when an agent from the firm was caught trying to “help” a prominent blogger write a critical piece on one of Google’s services, according to The Daily Beast.

The PR firm is Burson-Marsteller. The blogger is Chris Soghoian. A Burson agent approached him to write a piece on Google’s Social Circle, a network of social connections that Google uses to deliver relevant search results. The Burson rep even offered to help write the piece and approached other news organizations, including USA Today, with similar offers.

Soghoian declined and instead decided to publish some of the emails from Burson.

For the most part, Google has stayed silent about the issue, although it’s noticeable that in its latest blog post about Social Search Twitter is mentioned three times while Facebook is nowhere to be seen.

Social Search should be available in 19 languages next week, with more languages on the way. Check out a video overview of the feature below.

Amber Rose: Wiz Khalifa is not a “downgrade” from Kanye West.

Posted on 18 May 2011 by Shola Syno

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose

The model split from the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker last year and is now dating rapper Wiz Khalifa and while he is not as famous as her ex, she is a lot happier with him.

She said: “There’s no comparison in personalities. You know when people say, ‘How do you go from Kanye to Wiz Khalifa, that’s a downgrade.’ But the only question I can ask them is, ‘Have you ever dated Kanye? Because I have, and believe me, I did not downgrade at all. Not in any aspect, at all.”

Although Amber had vowed never to get involved with another musician following her relationship with Kanye, she couldn’t help falling for Wiz.

She revealed to King magazine: “I chilled with him for two weeks. We didn’t kiss or nothing. Then he left for Pittsburgh and when he left I was so lost without him.

“He is a grown man about his business and a positive person who always has a smile on his face.”

While she is happy with Wiz, Amber has previously admitted she was bisexual and could fall in love with a man or a woman.

She said: “I’m extremely open about my sexuality.”

Creepy! Lil wayne feat. Rick Ross – John

Posted on 18 May 2011 by 'Diesel

Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne’s “John” Video Premiered Showcasing Spare Tires, Knife-Wielding Strippers, and Rick Ross in a Wheelchair. Weezy’s latest visual opus finds the rapper in an abandoned warehouse, outside on a dock, on top of a mountain of car tires, and surrounded by bats, while guest rapper Rick Ross rolls around in a wheelchair with flashy spinners.

Bizarre? A bit, but this is Lil Wayne we’re talking about.

Wayne hired director Collin Tilley to shoot the video after seeing Tilley’s work on Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” video, which Weezy guest starred in. The whole vibe of “John” is dark and grimey, and even includes strippers dancing in cages with knives. But the lyrics of the song — full title: “John (If I Die Tonight)” – are pretty morbid, too. At one point, Lil Wayne raps: “If I die today, remember me like John Lennon.”

That’s a lofty request, especially when he later raps, “I’m not a star, somebody lied.”

Decide for yourself after checking out the video for “John” below, courtesy of Lil Wayne’s Vevo Channel.
