Now Playing: Chyme HD – Killing Me Softly

Posted on 11 May 2012 by 'Diesel

ChymeHD

Considering Nigeria’s music industry as a runway, it is expected that every debuting artist who gets an opportunity to walk through that stage make an impression… a lasting one at that. Failure to do so can be very severe and with tons of artists crawling out daily, there’s almost no room for a ‘second impression’. Bearing this in mind, the label heads of Haven Music advice that pundits and music lovers open their ears and minds as they proudly present Chyme HD – a high definition Rapper aka Supa Nova – a tyro with the skills of a veteran .

Chyme HD comes with a truckload of brilliant and strategically body of works to appeal across borders, starting with “Killing Me Softly” featuring and produced by label mate, Omo. It is a Rap song, slightly embellished with Pop and R&B. It bears the message of love and affection to that special one who makes your heart jump a beat every time you see her”, he explains.

Born in Portharcourt, the songwriter and entrepreneur grew up on music by the likes of Rakim, Craig Mark, Wu Tang Clan, Notorious B.I.G, DMX, Bone Thugz n Harmony, Ludacris, Nelly, Immortal Technique and Sticky Fingerz. “On the home front, I’m still a fan of the Trybesmen, all the SWAT ROOTS and lately M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Raw and Ruggedman”, he adds.

Chyme is a certified street kid who played hard and learnt the hard way. It may also interest you to know that he is a survivor of acute hepatorenal failure (Kidney and liver failure) – a sickness that took him out and back to life within 7 minutes. According to him, “After the experience, I made up my mind to reach out to the world in the best way I can. I shall share my story of pains, sufferings, love and gratitude to God for my rebirth using music as the core medium”.

Supa Nova as he is also called was drawn from the scientific term – ‘Supernova’, which is a Star that increases suddenly and greatly in brightness due to a catastrophic explosion. For Chyme HD, his emergence into the music scene could be underrated as in the case of many upcoming acts, but a good listen to “Killing Me Softly”, is guaranteed to appeal and make way to more great music from him which will blow him up to brightness like the ‘Supernova star’.
