Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram Islamic group released a YouTube video message yesterday claiming, Abu Qaqa, who is widely believed to have been killed by men of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) recently, is still alive.
The Boko Haram leader described the arrest of wives of its members as “demeaning” promising to start a fresh round of attacks on wives of government officials in retaliation.
Reports say Shekau also threatened violence in reaction to the anti-Islam video which portrays the Holy Prophet Mohammed in bad light.
Since the JTF attack claiming to have taken Abu Qaqa’s life at a military checkpoint, nothing has been heard from him since then, and his status remains unclear.
