Manchester United and Real Madrid legend David Beckham is being linked with a shock takeover of Malaga.

The LA Times says Beckham and Alexi Lalas are eyeing off the troubled Spanish Liga outfit.

A stock swap is being discussed between the Beckham/Lalas group and Malaga owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani, who has struggled to handle the club’s finances.

If successful, LA Galaxy star Beckham would take charge of 75 per cent of Malaga.
