Bracket: Our relationship with P Square is intact

Posted on 26 August 2011 by 'Diesel

Bracket with Tuface.

Contrary to screaming headlines in one of the popular dailies some weeks ago, alleging that all was not well with the once blossoming relationship between Bracket and P-Square; the duo have responded via a press statement retorting that there is no iota of truth in the report and as such should be disregarded by all Bracket, P-Square fans and music enthusiasts alike.

Mr. Nwachukwu Mamah, the C. E. O of Ape Planet (Bracket’s Record Label) expressed his shock and disappointment at the report. “I do not know the source or basis for that malicious report and they never even attempted to contact us to confirm the story. It is just a mere fiction of the writer’s imagination. I can assure you that all is well between P-Square and Bracket and it will remain so for a long time” he said. Speaking on Bracket’s participation at the just concluded P-Square’s spectacular Invasion concert; their manager Nazy sighted it as a clear indicator that all is well and rosy between both artistes and all parties concerned. It would be recalled that Bracket gave an outstanding performance with their popular high life tune; Ada Owerri at the P-Square album concert.

Also, the same marketing arrangement [three marketers for an album project, Also J Martins' forthcoming album would get] for P Square’s album would be employed for the duo’s Cupid Stories album which would be released on September 5th.

Don Jazzy addresses the Illuminati story

Posted on 25 August 2011 by Milkman

Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy took offence with the spoof that called himself and the Mo’Hits team a new recruits into the Illuminati cult as he tweeted the following on social networking site, Twitter:

@DONJAZZY (Michael Collins)
hahahahahaha this is the dumbest story i have ever read. guys pls read. i don laff tire bit.ly/qr6Fk9

DONJAZZY Michael Collins
its stories like this about me that makes me doubt that the shit exists in the first place. bit.ly/qr6Fk9 hisssss.

DONJAZZY Michael Collins
instead of the idiot to say they want promo for their site. RT @Ekpedekumoebila: Who’s d fool behind dat?! *SMH*

The story read:

Finally there is incontrovertible proof that Nigerian superstar entertainer, D’Banj, and other members of Mo’Hits record label headed by prolific producer, Don Jazzy, are 100% confirmed members of the uber-evil secret cult, the Illuminati.

The undeniable evidence was provided by artistes of the record label themselves, causing Nigerians to philosophically comment that ‘they have used their own hands to do themselves.’

The evidence in question is a video clip produced by the record label in which D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, Wande Coal and an unidentified man dance like gay men to D’Banjs’ new hit single, Oliver Twist.

Dr Zen Solonso, a Zen expert and an expert on everything Illuminati, analysed the video and exposed all the hidden Illuminati symbols in it.

According to him, one of the biggest objectives of the Illuminati is to turn everybody gay – this is why their known members like Kanye West, dress like Gay men. It would be recalled that D’Banj and Don Jazzy have recently signed up to Kanye Wests’ record label.

In the group’s Oliver Twist video, they did not only dance like gay men, they also invite people to record their own Oliver videos and post it to them at oliver@mohitsrecords.com. And they even further enticed people with thousands of dollars that will be paid to the best video.

Already there are lots of videos on Youtube showing young people, both boys and girls, dancing like gay men to the Oliver Twist song.

Dr Solonso also pointed out that in the group’s video Don Jazzy is wearing what looks like chequered trousers.

“This alternating pattern of white and black squares is the Illuminati’s mind control method,” he said.

Indeed, according to the expert, the song’s catchy tune and highly danceable sound is down to Don Jazzy’s pants.

Dr Solonso also pointed out that at some point in the video the unidentified man walks across the camera, holding a red bag and what looks like an enchanted horn.

Finally, the expert drew attention to the sound speakers and other electronic equipment arranged to spell the word ILLUMINATI behind the artistes as they dance like gay men.

This, according to him, is the strongest evidence that the video, the song, and the invitation for people to film their own Oliver Twist videos are nothing but an Illuminati plot to turn Nigerians gay.

TARUWA celebrates four years and 100 episodes

Posted on 24 August 2011 by QMarkMag

Taruwa

What started out as a forum where arts lovers could come strip down, relax and express their
talent with no pretence; evolved into a regular show that is celebrating its hundredth episode
come August 30, 2011. TARUWA started out on August 21st 2007 as a platform for young
budding poets, spoken word artistes, actors, comedians, instrumentalists, and singers etc to
express themselves and slowly evolved into an avenue for groundbreaking, fresh and
promising talent. The show’s progress led the team to launching a quarterly publication -
“TARUWA – The Magazine”.

In its bid to encourage up and coming talent, Taruwa fused performances from the “known”
and the “unknown; slowly making it the place showcase talent as well as network with fast
rising and already established talents. TARUWA also provided a platform of engagement and
unwinding for journalists, publishers, producers and other special service providers who are
forces to reckon with in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Artistes like Mode9, Djinee, Snatcha of Rooftop MCs, Wale Dizzy, Obiwon, Spoken word artiste Sage, Idols West Africa’s
Omawumi, Eric and Jodie make up the list of Taruwa’s diverse talent breed; Rapper Jude MI
Abage first performed “safe” at Taruwa – a song he had written a night before the event.
Celebrity figures who can easily be identified as Taruwa regulars include alternate soul artiste
Bez Idakula, Top 90.9 radio personality Tosyn Bucknor, Amstel Malta Box office winner and
actor OC ukeje, renowned stage act Lala Akindoju, and producer Cobhams Asuquo.

Attributing a lot to the success of the show, Lydia Idakula Sobogun, CEO of Gbagyichild and
convener of the event states “Taruwa is one of the only events where you can just come up and express
yourself. When we started, you could just walk up to the organiser or host and put your name on the list
to perform no matter who you are… There are some of those kinds of events now; some inspired by
Taruwa, some not. But I’m glad for them, because there are so many talented people out there and not
enough stages for them.”

Taruwa has easily evolved into a breeding hub for new talent discovery; holding at the Bogobiri
House every last Tuesday of the month and converging a positive and art endearing audience,
Taruwa’s Hundreth anniversary goes a long way to show the increased need for special
purpose art and culture promotion avenues to be created and harnessed in Nigeria. Taruwa can
also boast of launching out new age career artistes such singer Bez Idakula, writer/ poet Chiedu
Ifeozo, and singer Gboyega Dada etc; amidst a whole lot of names.

Speaking on the future of Taruwa as well as other projects, Lydia Idakula Sobogun stated there
are a lot of projects in the pipelines which would be unveiled soon; “We’ve been recording and
compiling Taruwa into what would be an unplugged TV program and currently in talks with several TV
houses. We’ll be going on air soon by God’s grace. Taruwa’s parent company Gbagyichild Entertainment
is also looking into other projects. We’ve just concluded a photography exhibition in Abuja which was
very successful, and we’re also working on the next issue of the Taruwa Magazine which is due out in
October.”

This event will feature amazing performances from alternative soul artiste Bez, Rockband
Threadstone, Inyanya, poetry from Sage Hasson, Jeffrey Plumbline, a surprise duet by
Ibiyemi and Lydia; Isebiama, Tolu from MTN Project Fame, Ese Peters. It will be strictly
amazing performances as usual; the host for the evening will be Snatcha of the Rooftop MCs.
