J. Gyang

For those who didn’t get the memo or should we say tweet by Rapper M.I. MI took to Twitter a while back to explai Jeremiah Gyang absence from the Chocolate City roster. He wrote:

“5 years ago I came with Jeremiah Gyang to Enugu for a rainbow net show. Nobody knew who I was.. just a tag along to spit 16 on Kaunar Allah! That day however, a director on chocolate city died, his name is dapo… He died in a car crash.. So Jeremiah and I heard on our way Dapo’s death was a key components that led to Jeremiah leaving Chocolate City… I believe it also really affected Audu Maikori. It took Chocolate City years to recover.

However, in this space I was the only artist on Chocolate City and I decided to move to Lagos…”

He added: “What is so important is that I met Djinee at the show in Enugu.. And he said.. Ur good.. If you need a place to stay..I got you”

MI will be releasing another mixtape soon, its titled ‘Illegal Music 2″ and he will featuring Iceberg slim, the rapper he has been exchanging words with; Its not beef though, just a challenge and Mode9, a lyricist he respect so much).

Nonhle Thema Slipped On Twitter

Posted on 27 June 2011 by Shola Syno

Johannesburg – Ordinary folk in this country have all just about had it with television personality Nonhle Thema after yet another meltdown on social network Twitter.

The 29-year-old whose raging emotions have been on display since her reality TV show, Nonhle Goes to Hollywood ended in March, has landed in hot water with her employers, SoftSheen-Carson.

“Sorry for the tweets, I was just having fun but it went too far. I love Dark and Lovely and my tweetanators and meant no harm,” she tweeted on Thursday morning.

But it might have been too little too late for the girl who went from humble to arrogant overnight, boasting to her fans about the millions she had made since she scored the deal in May 2009.

Last Saturday night she told her 36 620 followers that she had “made $10m [about R69m] from Dark and Lovely face unfortunately I could NOT be the face forever as u all expected. But don’t worry…I’m rich”.

This led to responses like: “She’s nuts”, “She needs to see a shrink” and “How childish”. Some even commented on how she was shaming her actor mother, Cynthia Shange, of U-Deliwe fame.

An unsigned email from SoftSheen-Carson states that Thema is still contracted to them and reiterates its support for the TV personality.

“She realises those tweets may have offended some people and apologises. They do not reflect Nonhle’s character nor do they reflect the values of SoftSheen-Carson,” reads the short statement.

Thema, who is also the face of DStv channel Vuzu and presenter of V Entertainment, also wrote that she’d made $2m off her “TV career”.

The channel responded: “What Nonhle Thema tweets in her personal capacity are her views and the comments expressed there do not represent those of the channel.”

Thema excused herself. “I am human too. How can I be insane if I am at work on time, learn my scripts, present a show, have business meetings and still do my job efficiently, because all of that requires a lot of sanity,” she commented.

Celebs @NonhleThema

@DJFreshSA: All Yall “paying attention” are to blame coz “u feed the beast”

@KhayaDlanga : I’m not sure whether Nonhle needs Chuck Norris or Jesus. Or both

@Euphonik: WhenILoseIt I’ll call my reality show “Euphonik Properly Without Embarrisng (sic) Himself Goes To Hollywood”

@ZuraidaJardine: Our very own Charlie Sheen, or is it Mel Gibson?

@TumiFromTheV: I think I am allowed 1 judgment a year, now I don’t know you ma, but I think you are out of your mind.

@FrankySA: @NonhleThema do u have some change to sponsor my video? Yazi anginamali (I don’t have money)

BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED: Weza has a crush on Alex

Posted on 27 June 2011 by QMarkMag

...

“I had a crush on you since Day 1″, said Weza to Alex. It didn’t come as much of a shock to Bumaye, because he has been told far too many times that he was talk of the Headschicks.

Upon her entry into the Tails House, Weza told Alex the girls in the Heads House played a truth or dare game where it was revealed that most of them had a crush on him and hated on Millicent for having been the first one to kiss him.

Millicent confirmed the factuality of Weza’s story and told Alex she has had to endure so much animosity for the incident she had with him, long after he had left the Heads House.

Weza’s timing for declaring her liking for Alex leaves a lot to be desired, as she has already spent two weeks in the same House as Alex but has not said a word; it had to take Millicent’s entrance to the Tails House for her to admit liking him. - BigBrotherAfrica

Omotola Ekeinde’s Husband finally speak on Grammy Pictures

Posted on 26 June 2011 by Milkman

The picture from the Grammys' red carpet

There’s was a butt-grabbing incident by OMotola Ekeinde’s escort at the 2011 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles-an event that had Omotola, as the first Nollywood star to ever walk the Red Carpet at the star-studded event.

The picture had elicited wild rumors and innuendoes – with some speculating that her relationship with the guy, whose hands was on her backside, had more to it than meets the eye.

There was a phone conversation with vanguard where Omotola Jalade’s husband Matthew Ekeinde finally spoke on the rumour with the crack in theor marriage due to the picture, He said:

My brother, I am very proud of my wife’s accomplishments and I join other well wishers and millions of her fans to toast her success. I’m a little surprised that instead of Nigerians celebrating her appearance at the Grammys and her, being the first Nollywood star to walk the red carpet; they are busy spreading tales and rumors that do not exist.

Truth be told, I was not angry with my wife when I saw the picture. Why should I be? I know who I married, how self-respecting she is and also the nature of her industry. She is an actress for God’s sake, and it is not out of place for actresses to appear in scenes that may look a little out of place for a married person.

The key thing is that my wife respects her marital status, and in our 15 year marriage, she has been the best woman any man could aspire to have. In spite of her stardom, at home, she is my wife. She cooks for me, takes care of the home and above all, is a great mother to our lovely children.

I sincerely would implore her fans not to buy into rumors and speculations about her marital life, because I, the husband the one that is lucky to have her as my wife is so proud of her and I continue to thank God for bringing her into my life. I could never have asked for a better wife than her” Mr. Ekeinde a commercial airline pilot had concluded”.
