Troubled boss of Zenon Oil, Femi Otedola’s attempt to reclaim his days of glory by revamping his business empire just hit a brick wall.
He is said to have recently approached President Goodluck Jonathan to handle some business deals on the latter’s behalf including positioning himself as sole handler of kerosene.
The meeting was facilitated by Minister for Works, Senator Sanusi Daggash. The meeting hit a sad note as the presidency told him he would get back to him as he doesn’t want anything to do with Otedola.
The president’s fear is Otedola’s many associations. He is having a thing or two going with ex vice president Atiku Abubarkar and former President Obasanjo.
His fight with industrial giant Aliko Dangote and certain disclosures he made publicly against his former confidante are said to be working against him as well.
Despite the subtle rebuff of his business overtures, Otedola is reportedly not letting go off his ambitions. He is positioning himself in such a way that he is conspicuous in the Jonathan camp’s train- attending social gatherings and what’s not with the first family and waiting for the most conceivable opportunity to return to his former grace.
