Ask your girlfriend what she thinks about Ego. Go on, do it. She’ll probably give you one of those responses usually reserved for that chick she couldn’t stand in secondary school. Maybe it’s: “I don’t get why she’s popular!” Or it could be: “What do people see in her, anyway?” It’s easy to resent what you don’t understand, and we have to admit that the 23-something-old pop star who has walked the runway in every Nigerians’ dress isn’t the easiest person to dissect – Even the guys and ‘industry’ people have asked on several occasion ‘why did Kevin Lucciano [Boss at Questionmark] sign her onto the label?’. Before the hits – you’d be dumb to think she doesn’t have one – scratch that – two, Ego came up hard—like struggling-rapper hard. Her two singles are hits with her break out – Omalicha getting a remix and a favourite with fans and on radio in the east and ‘Thinking about you‘ featuring her producer and fellow label mate, Harrysong whose album – Testify would drop in April 2011. The budding pop star, who signed to Questionmark Entertainment has began recording her debut album which is still untitled. Taking a break from cooking up more songs the whole world will sing, she had a photo shoot recently and we tagged it ‘The Amazon photo session’.
