Telecom gaint, MTN nicked the title sponsorship of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) edging out rival Globacom with over N552.5 million to tie a four year deal.
MTN won the bid based on its superior sum of N2.6 billion in its bid proposal and the losing firm, Globacom, put in a bid with less than N1 billion compared to the N2.65 billion by winning firm.
Globacom had been the title sponsor of the NPL before it pulled out of the deal in December 2009 citing unfavourable circumstances.
