Dynamix All Youth Awards’ first edition took place five years ago converging thousands of youth at a venue and celebrating the brightest of them.
Later on, Telecoms company – Etisalat came on board as title sponsor and the event became the foremost youth celebrating ceremony. Just as the going got good for the organizers, widely reported act of soliciting for funds for wins by several nominees emerged,l questioning the awards’ credibility.
This year’s edition took place without the support of a sponsor besides red bull who had their rep hand out free cans of the energy drink. “We know Etisalat back out largely because of the allegations of incredibility”, a source close to the organizers informed.
The lack of sponsors this year was evident as the new Expo Hall was demarcated and assumably knowing the number of expected guest wouldn’t be compared to previous editions, organizers made use of half of the New Expo Hall.
In true Nigerian tradition, the red carpet proceedings started late as the event didn’t kick off till after 10 PM and press representative could be counted.
Unlike previous award ceremonies that took place at the Eko Hotels and Suites: Soundcity Music Video awards, MTV Africa Music Awards and Nigeria Music Video Awards, where sizeable traffic was experienced at the gate of Eko Hotel and Suites, It was not the same for Dynamix Awards. At 11PM, the entry to Eko Hotels was deserted.
The award ceremony also suffered several criticisms from Attendees and Twitter users alike.
“Do you know he nominated his girlfriend in Caleb (university) at the last edition of the awards”, a Tweet read as the 2010 edition of the award ceremony that took place yesterday, 21 December was on going.
“I just don’t get it, I’m a nominee and getting entry into the award ceremony is becoming a situation”, a nominee for the Best DJ category informed.
Taking to Twitter, attendee rap artiste 2 Shotz said : “DYNAMIX awards was a collection of yahoo boys n their ashewo (prostituting) babes from different zones coming 2geda to celebrate dia (their) stupidity”
Just before he said: “Back home…thinkin.. hmmm!! DYNAMIX awards was a complete joke n waste of my fuckin time.”
Other Celebrities spotted at the event were Don Jazzy, Mo Cheeda, actress Tonto Dikeh, Ikon, Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince and Illbliss.

Why d beef?
The author definately has something against Tunde Dynamix..
First of all, you could have used a better picture. Why use the picture of a dancer when you could have used the picture of someone receiving an award.
Also, you are questioning the credibility of the award, but nobody is questioning the credibility of the screenshot. Any graphic artist can easily doctor that screen shot.
You mentioned alot of celeberities in attendance but 2shot is the only one with publicized negative comments. Could it be because he has NEVER been recognised by Dynamix?
So, what if his girlfriend was nominated lastyear?whats the proof that she didn’t deserve it?At least she didn’t win it.
Obviously, etisalat backed out of the event, but I doubt its because of credibility. They had backed out way before the nominations started.
Dynamix has come along way, though it can be said to celebrate vanity and materialism, I think this year’s award was just a shot in the foot. Tunde would bandage the wound and recover from his mistakes, and present a bigger more transaparent ceremony next year.
AND PLEASE STOP THE BEEF!!!
