It would be wrong for a publisher to think Y! magazine is just another magazine and ‘unsmart’ move into the print venture when everything is going online as the team behind it have a gorilla-size reputation preceeding them. REDStrat would be publishing the Y! Magazine to debut this month – REd Strat is the company behind The Future Awards and several other projects.
The publishers are looking at a Nigerian’ Vanity Fair: “Y! Magazine seeks to be to Nigeria’s youth culture what Vanity Fair is to America’s pop culture.”
The cover story is on Actress and singer, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde with a truly groundbreaking photo shoot captained by Kelechi
Amadi-Obi and stylist Dimeji Alara.
One of the pictures [as seen above] in that cover shoot portfolio has Omotola playing a missing character in the ‘Justice League’ comic – symbol of justice. What do we call her character? Well, we are informed that Omotola gets all sweaty and stern on the streets of Lagos!
According to the team, the shoot took over one month to put together.
The launch of the magazine, and the entire Y! experience, holds at Rehab, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, August 15, at a strictly by invitation event, anchored by actor OC Ukeje and Beat FM’s Oreka.
