Transport Mogul, Ifesinachi Is Dead

RENOWNED transporter and chairman, Ifesinachi Industries (Nig) Ltd, Igwe James O. Mamah, Ohabuenyi 1 of Umuozzi in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Council of Enugu State is dead.

Aged 68, the monarch died on June 1, 2010 after a brief illness at Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, New York, United States (U.S).

According to a statement signed by the family, the late Igwe Mamah will be buried on Friday, July 30 at Ugbaike, Enugu-Ezike after a requiem High Mass.

Born in 1942 a month after the death of his father, the late Mamah began life’s struggles, which cumulated in attaining great heights in different human endeavours.

Before the demise of Igwe, his business empire owing to his high business acumen had transgressed the transport sector to oil and gas, banking, manufacturing, hotel, courier services, information technology (IT), event management/entertainment, pharmaceuticals etc with branches nationwide, London and United States of America amongst other countries.

Igwe had to his credit so many honour/awards to wit; Member Federal Republic (MFR), Ekwueme of Ugbaike, Ohabuenyi 1 of Umuozzi, Traditional ruler of Umuozzi, Road Safety Award, NTA Award, NCF Award, NUJ Life Patron, CAST UNN Award, UNN Award. JP, Doctor of Business Administration (AD) Honouris Causa UNN.

Life Patron of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member Onitsha Sports Club, Trustee Luxury Bus Owners Association of Nigeria (LUBON), Patron Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, Trustee South East Traditional Rulers Council.

He is survived by a sister, wife and children, including Prince Emeka Mamah, Chairman, IFEX Courier Limited; Prince Ifeanyi Mamah, Chairman Nine Whole Yard Ltd. and Mrs. Nonye Ugwu, among many other children and grandchildren.
